Discipline Summaries

March 18, 2016

JACK ISRAEL ADLER [#97380], 68, of Moreno Valley, was disbarred March 18, 2016 and ordered to comply with rule 9.20 of the California Rules of Court.

Adler was disbarred after his default was entered for failing to respond to a notice of disciplinary charges. Because he did not seek to have the default set aside or vacated within 90 days, he was disbarred and the charges against him deemed admitted.

Adler failed to file a declaration of compliance with rule 9.20 as required by an earlier disciplinary order. He had two prior records of discipline, a 2012 suspension for appearing before courts when he was not entitled to practice law and a 2013 suspension for not complying with rule 9.20.

January 2, 2014

JACK ISRAEL ADLER [#97380], 66, of Moreno Valley was suspended for one year, stayed, placed on two years’ probation with an actual six-month suspension and ordered to take the MPRE. The order took effect Jan. 2, 2014.

Adler stipulated that he failed to comply with rule 9.20 as required by a 2012 disciplinary order. He was previously disciplined for making seven court appearances as a special appearance attorney while on administrative suspension. The misconduct, which occurred between Sept. 1, 2010 and July 4, 2011, resulted in a 90-day actual suspension.

In mitigation, Adler entered into a pre-trial stipulation in his most recent discipline case and was suffering from serious health issues at the time of his misconduct.

August 18, 2012

JACK ISRAEL ADLER, 65, of Moreno Valley was suspended for one year, stayed, placed on two years of probation with a 90-day actual suspension and he was ordered to take the MPRE and comply with rule 9.20 of the California Rules of Court. The order took effect Aug. 18, 2012.

Adler stipulated that he practiced law while not entitled for failing to complete continuing education requirements. He made 77 special appearances on traffic cases in Los Angeles and San Bernardino superior courts. His actions involved moral turpitude.

In mitigation, he had no discipline record in 20-plus years of practice.
