Credit shall be given for an interim suspension which began Nov. 24, 2001. Brownstein pleaded guilty in 2001 to one count of submitting a false tax return for 1992, a felony involving moral turpitude. He underreported his earnings.In mitigation, no clients were harmed and the misconduct was unrelated to the practice of law.Brownstein had serious financial problems at the time due to a divorce and the decline of his bankruptcy practice.
