June 20, 2012 RICHARD VINCENT MONAHAN, 62, of Bakersfield was suspended for two years, stayed, placed on two years of probation and was ordered to take the MPRE. The order took effect June 20, 2012. Monahan was convicted in 2010 of misdemeanor battery after throwing a defective auto part that he was trying to return and striking an employee in the face. He was frustrated that a replacement part had been sent to a different store and was remorseful when he learned the employee was hit in the head.In mitigation, he had no discipline record in more than 30 years of practice, cooperated with the bar’s investigation, expressed remorse, presented evidence of his good character and provides pro bono services. |
