June 16, 2012 STEVEN RUDOLPH ANDRADE, 60, of Santa Barbara was suspended for one year, stayed, placed on one year of probation and was ordered to take the MPRE and comply with rule 9.20 of the California Rules of Court. The order took effect June 16, 2012. Andrade pleaded no contest in 2011 to misdemeanor hit and run and misdemeanor reckless driving involving alchohol, a charge offered as a plea bargain settlement in place of a DUI. He lost control of his car and struck two parked vehicles. A diabetic, he was suffering from low blood sugar, which contributed to the accident.In mitigation, Andrade practiced for 32 years without a discipline record, cooperated with the bar’s investigation, had serious health problems and presented evidence of his good character. |
