PAUL STANLEY NASH [#77555], 67, of Irvine, was suspended from the practice of law for 60 days and ordered to take the MPRE. He was also placed on two years’ probation and faces a two-year suspension if he fails to comply with the terms of his disciplinary probation. The order took effect July 23, 2016.

Nash failed to maintain a balance of $10,000 in his client trust account related to a business transaction he was helping negotiate and misappropriated $2,713.42. He also made six deposits of personal funds into his client trust account and made 44 payments for personal expenses from it.

In aggravation, Nash committed multiple acts of misconduct, some of which was intentional. In mitigation, he had no prior record of discipline, there was no harm to his client, he made restitution and presented nine letters and declarations from the legal and public communities attesting to his good character.
