May 29, 2015 STEPHEN EDWARD GALINDO [#76481], 64, of South Pasadena, was suspended from the practice of law for 30 days and until he makes restitution. He was ordered to take the MPRE and comply with rule 9.20 of the California Rules of Court. In addition, he was placed on one year of probation and faces a one-year suspension if he does not comply with the terms of his disciplinary probation. The order took effect May 29, 2015. Galindo abandoned his client’s criminal case by failing to appear in court on numerous occasions, leading a judge to twice sanction him $1,000. He did not report the sanctions to the State Bar and did not pay them by deadline. He was ordered to pay the $2,000 in sanctions and provide proof of his compliance to the Office of Probation.In mitigation, he had no prior record of discipline and entered into a pretrial stipulation with the State Bar. |
