Discipline Summaries

December 13, 1996

WILLIAM HARRIS COLEMAN [#70465], 49, of Santa Rosa was suspended for four years, stayed, and was placed on four years of probation with a three-year, six-month actual suspension and until he proves his rehabilitation. He was ordered to take the MPRE and received credit for the interim suspension which began in June 1993. The order took effect Dec. 13, 1996.

Coleman and his wife were convicted in a 1993 jury trial of cultivation of marijuana and possession of marijuana for sale.

He was privately reproved by the bar in 1989 for failing to perform legal services, properly withdraw from employment, or promptly deliver client files and refund unearned fees. He also did not cooperate with the bar's investigation.

When he did not take the CPRE required by the reproval, he was suspended and placed on probation. He subsequently did not comply with the terms of his probation and was again publicly reproved.
