March 20, 2015 MARLON HOLDEN BATEMAN [#50080], 81, of Modesto, was suspended from the practice of law for 30 days and ordered to take the MPRE. He was also placed on one-year of probation and faces a one-year suspension if he does not comply with the terms of his disciplinary probation. The order took effect March 20, 2015. Bateman stipulated that in January 2013, he falsely reported he’d met his MCLE requirement when, in fact, he had not completed any of the necessary hours. He completed the required hours and paid a $75 penalty after the compliance period and an MCLE audit.In mitigation, he had no prior record of discipline in 41 years of practice and entered into a prefiling stipulation with the State Bar. |
