CARI DONAHUE [#273436], 32, of Oceanside, was suspended from the practice of law for two years and until she makes restitution to clients of $13,500 plus interest. She must pass the State Bar’s Ethics School test. The order took effect Aug. 28, 2016.

Donahue was found culpable of receiving an illegal advanced fee for loan modification or forbearance services, failing to deposit and maintain client funds in her trust account or pay client funds promptly and committing an act involving moral turpitude.

In aggravation, she committed multiple acts of misconduct and caused significant harm to clients. She failed to make restitution. She committed acts of uncharged misconduct, including failure to properly supervise non-attorneys’ handling of client matters. In mitigation, Donahue cooperated with the State Bar and presented evidence of her good character.
