November 28, 2013 JANA L. GILL [#248948], 51, of Truckee was disbarred Nov. 28, 2013 and ordered to comply with rule 9.20 of the California Rules of Court Gill stipulated that between April 2006 and February 2008 she misappropriated at least $120,000 from a family trust she served as trustee for, using it for herself and her husband’s benefit. Gill’s mother-in-law was the primary beneficiary of the trust at the time of the misappropriation, but died after the trust took action against Gill and her husband for misuse of funds. In August 2010, a settlement was reached whereby Gill and her husband agreed to pay monthly payments totaling $103,325 over a 10-year period misusing the trust money. Gill stopped after making just two of the monthly payments. |
