JENNIFER YVONNE WILLIAMS [#242146], 32, of Long Beach was disbarred Nov. 28, 2013 and ordered to comply with rule 9.20 of the California Rules of Court.

Williams was disbarred after her default was entered for failing to respond to a notice of disciplinary charges. She was disbarred under rule 5.85 of the California Rules of Procedure because she did not move to have the default set aside within 180 days.

The charges were deemed admitted: Williams failed to cooperate or participate in disciplinary investigations involving four client matters.

Williams had two prior records of discipline. In January 2012, she was suspended after stipulating that she failed to perform competently or promptly refund unearned fees in three matters, shared legal fees with a non-lawyer and failed to promptly respond to reasonable client status inquiries.

In September 2012, Williams’ probation was revoked after she did not comply with certain provisions of her probation in her prior disciplinary matter.

The probation of JENNIFER YVONNE WILLIAMS [#242146], 31, of Long Beach was revoked, the previous stay of suspension was lifted, she was suspended for three years and until she makes restitution and proves her rehabilitation, and she was ordered to comply with rule 9.20 of the California Rules of Court. The order took effect Oct. 18, 2012.

Williams did not comply with probation conditions attached to a 2012 disciplinary order. She did not contact the State Bar’s probation office in a timely fashion or make required $210/month restitution payments to three clients.

In the underlying matter, she stipulated to misconduct in three matters, including failures to perform legal services competently, respond to a client’s reasonable status inquiries or refund unearned fees and she shared fees with a non-lawyer.

February 4, 2012

JENNIFER YVONNE WILLIAMS [#242146], 31, of Long Beach was suspended for three years, stayed, placed on three years of probation with a 60-day actual suspension and she was ordered to take the MPRE within one year. The order took effect Feb. 4, 2012. Williams stipulated to eight counts of misconduct in three loan modification matters, each including failures to perform legal services competently or refund unearned fees. She did not obtain a loan modification for any of the clients. In one of the matters, Williams also shared fees with a real estate agent who is not a lawyer and did not respond to the client’s status inquiries. In mitigation, she cooperated with the bar’s investigation.
