May 29, 2016 JOSEPH FRIEDEN HANAN [#229936], 40, of Los Angeles, was suspended from the practice of law for 90 days and ordered to take the MPRE and comply with rule 9.20 of the California Rules of Court. He was also placed on two years’ probation and faces a one-year suspension if he does not comply with the terms of his disciplinary probation. The order took effect May 29, 2016. Hanan stipulated that he failed to comply with the conditions of an earlier private reproval by not meeting deadlines to submit a quarterly report and his final report to probation, attend self-help group meetings, take and pass the MPRE or take Ethics School. He also stated under penalty of perjury he had met the requirements surrounding his reproval when he hadn’t.Hanan’s private reproval was for failure to communicate or cooperate with a disciplinary investigation. |
