Discipline Summaries

October 22, 2005

JON BRADY HULTMAN [#218458], 35, of Beverly Hills was suspended for six months, stayed, and placed on two years of probation, effective Oct. 22, 2005.

Hultman stipulated to three counts of misconduct in two cases.

In the first, he issued a check against insufficient funds in his client trust account and the balance kept falling. The bank closed the account due to inactivity. Hultman admitted he committed an act of moral turpitude by writing a check when he knew there were insufficient funds in the account.

In the second matter, he did not respond to a State Bar investigator who inquired about allegations of misconduct in an immigration case. The bar determined independently that there was no misconduct.

Hultman stipulated that he failed to cooperate with a bar investigation in both cases.

He was privately reproved in 2004 for failing to perform legal services competently or communicate with a client and improperly withdrawing from employment.
