Discipline Summaries

July 27, 2011

LIONEL E. GIRON [#200450], 43, of Pomona was suspended for one year, stayed, placed on two years of probation with a 60-day actual suspension and he was ordered to take the MPRE within one year. The order took effect July 27, 2011.

Giron was convicted in 2007 of misdemeanor corporal injury to a cohabitant. While married, he had a physical confrontation with another woman he had been dating for six years and with whom he had a child. He and the woman had both been drinking.

The following year, he pleaded no contest to violating a restraining order and damaging an automobile belonging to someone else by breaking the passenger side window. Both crimes are misdemeanors.

He violated his probation by telling the court he had completed his community service at an approved facility, when he knew it was not approved.

In mitigation, he cooperated with the bar’s investigation and has no prior discipline record.
