April 25, 2014 BRUCE HALL ATWATER III [#199011], 42, of San Francisco was suspended for two years, stayed, placed on two years’ probation with an actual 60-day suspension and ordered to take the MPRE. The order took effect April 25, 2014. Atwater failed to comply with the terms of a 2011 public reproval. He was late or never submitted multiple probation reports and failed to attend four meetings per month of a substance abuse program or provide proof to the State Bar Office of Probation. He also did not furnish laboratory blood and/or urine reports to the Office of Probation and failed to provide proof of attendance of at least four substance abuse program meetings by the required deadline, obtain psychiatric treatment four times per month, provide proof to probation or provide proof by deadline that he had passed the MPRE.In mitigation, Atwater entered into a pretrial stipulation with the State Bar.Atwater’s public reproval was for failing to abide by the terms of an agreement in lieu of discipline and failing to return unearned fees in a single client matter. |
