November 4, 2016 ALFRED NASH VILLALOBOS [#194000], 51, of Northridge, was summarily disbarred Nov. 4, 2016 and ordered to comply with rule 9.20 of the California Rules of Court. Villalobos was disbarred as a result of his Aug. 31, 2011 conviction for endeavoring to obstruct justice and interfering with commerce by extortion. Both are felonies.December 9, 2011 ALFRED NASH VILLALOBOS [#], 46, of Northridge was placed on interim suspension Dec. 9, 2011, after he was convicted of endeavoring to obstruct justice and interfering with commerce by extortion, felonies involving moral turpitude. He was ordered to comply with rule 9.20 of the California Rules of Court. October 23, 2004 ALFRED NASH VILLALOBOS [#194000], 39, of Chatsworth was suspended for one year, stayed, placed on one year of probation with an actual 30-day suspension and was ordered to take the MPRE within one year. The order took effect Oct. 23, 2004. Villalobos stipulated that he failed to maintain client funds in a trust account, communicate with a client, or promptly pay out client funds.He settled a personal injury case for $14,500 and issued a check to his client for $5,000. The client was notified that Villalobos placed a stop payment order on the check. He did not give the client the money owed to her for more than two years, and he did not pay her doctor bills for two years.In mitigation, Villalobos claimed he waited to have several claims clarified before disbursing the settlement funds. He also cooperated with the bar’s investigation. |
