Discipline Summaries

March 27, 2015

CRAIG HENRY MAR [#176939], 58, of Oakland, was suspended from the practice of law for 30 days and ordered to take the MPRE. He was also placed on three years’ probation and faces a two-year suspension if he does not comply with the terms of his disciplinary probation. The order took effect March 27, 2015.

Mar stipulated that in 2011 and 2012 while handling a case involving an estate he disobeyed three court orders by not appearing at three settlement conferences. In addition, he did not report $2,400 in sanctions to the State Bar and made misrepresentations to a judge under penalty of perjury.

In mitigation, Mar had no prior record of discipline and entered into a prefiling stipulation with the State Bar.
