Discipline Summaries

December 24, 2010

LAURA ANN RAYCRAFT [#158360], 53, of Cameron Park was suspended for two years, stayed and placed on three years of probation with an actual one-year suspension with credit for a previous one-year suspension. The order took effect Dec. 24, 2010.

Raycraft successfully completed the Alternative Discipline Program after demonstrating a connection between her mental health issues and her misconduct. She stipulated that she committed misconduct in seven matters, including failures to promptly refund unearned fees, pay out or account for client funds, communicate with clients or inform clients of significant developments, perform legal services competently or deposit client funds in a trust account, and she committed acts of moral turpitude in three matters.

In mitigation, Raycraft demonstrated remorse, cooperated with the bar’s investigation, had no prior record of discipline and had extreme emotional difficulties.
