August 17, 2000 GEORGE A. BAKER [#146479], 49, of Modesto was suspended for one year, stayed, and was actually suspended for 30 days and until he attends ethics school and the State Bar Court grants a motion to end the suspension. He must comply with any probation conditions ordered at that time, take the MPRE and comply with rule 955. If the actual suspension exceeds two years, he must prove his rehabilitation. The order took effect Aug. 17, 2000. In a default proceeding, the State Bar Court found that Baker did not comply with the terms of a 1997 disciplinary order by failing to attend ethics school or take the professional responsibility exam. The original discipline resulted from one count of client abandonment. |
