December 13, 1996 FRITZ JAY FIRMAN [#117011], 39, of Santa Ana was suspended for six months, stayed, placed on two years of probation with an actual 30-day suspension, and was ordered to take the MPRE within one year. The order took effect Dec. 13, 1996. Firman stipulated to 15 counts of misconduct, including failing to perform adequately for three clients and failure to communicate with five clients in separate bankruptcy matters. He also did not respond to inquiries by bar investigators.In mitigation, he practiced without discipline since his 1984 admission to the bar, suffered from depression, had several family crises, and was hospitalized with pneumonia. |
