Discipline Summaries

November 27, 1996

The probation of RODERICK GEORGE BOUYER [#112926], 42, of Sherman Oaks was revoked and the stay of suspension was lifted. He was given another one-year suspension, stayed, and placed on two years of probation with an actual 90-day suspension. He also was ordered to comply with rule 955. The order took effect Nov. 27, 1996.

Bouyer did not comply with conditions of a 1994 probation by failing to file four probation reports, attend ethics school, attend the client trust account record-keeping course or take the CPRE within one year of the order (he did pass the test later).

The 1994 order was the result of misconduct in two cases. He did not respond to two summary judgment motions or appear at hearings in a medical malpractice case, which was dismissed as a result of Bouyer's actions.

In a separate matter, he issued a check for personal purposes from his client trust account knowing that it lacked sufficient funds.

Bouyer also was publicly reproved with conditions in 1989.
