May 27, 2015 MICHAEL JOEL KELLY [105880], 68, of Acton, was placed on two years of probation and faces a two-year suspension if he does not comply with the terms of his disciplinary probation. He was also ordered to take the MPRE. The order took effect May 27, 2015. In 2013, Kelly commingled funds in his client trust account by allowing $517.50 in earned legal fees to be deposited into his account. Kelly used an attachment to his smartphone to allow him to collect fees by having his clients swipe their credit cards.In mitigation, Kelly had no prior record of discipline and entered into a prefiling stipulation with the State Bar. |
