January 7, 2016 DENNIS MICHAEL CARR [#100464], 62, of San Francisco, was suspended from the practice of law for six months and ordered to comply with rule 9.20 of the California Rules of Court and take the MPRE. He was also placed on two years’ probation and faces a one-year suspension if he does not comply with the terms of his disciplinary probation. The order took effect Jan. 7, 2016. Carr commingled personal funds in his client trust account by not withdrawing his attorneys’ fees after his interest on the fees became fixed and depositing $15,458.16 of his personal funds. He also did not deposit his client’s $75,000 settlement check in his client trust account and did not pay or otherwise resolve the client’s Medicare lien and other liens for more than two years.In mitigation, he had no prior record of discipline and entered into a pretrial stipulation with the State Bar. |
